Tidal Benefit Concert

    You have officially stepped inside for tea!!

   On Saturday, October 15th, 2016, Tidal (ran by Jay-Z) had a benefit concert with many popular celebrities. Tidal was released back in October 2014. The company has had problems when they first launched their music app. Many people did not want to pay so much to hear their favorite artists but when people realized that their favorite artists music would only be released on there it made people subscribe. Tidal has been progressing over that past two years and have a huge fan base. Artists like Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, Alicia Keys, and Kanye West has helped the tidal fan base grow.
      The Tidal Benefit Concert was held in the Barclay's Center in Brooklyn, NY. The concert was definitely crowded and lasted the whole Saturday night. Beyonce had an incredible performance but there was a minor accident during. She ripped her earring out of her ear while performing. Fans continue to praise her for not stopping. She hit every note and every dance move. Beyonce is definitely a awesome performer for keeping her cool.
       Hip-Hop artist, Nicki Minaj, received bad comments on her performance at the major concert. While some were entertained by her twerking, other just could not deal anyore. People say they are tired of her twerking her "fake butt". They say that it barely moved but her back was the main thing moving. Nicki Minaj brought out Hip-Hop artist, Fetty Wap, to perform his song "Trap Queen" which was a hit in 2014. Along with everyone else, we are waiting for the next concert in 2017. Pinterest

Pinterest has never really interested me as a social network to go on and express myself. Pinterest is sort of like a collage that you can create on a computer and share it with other people. You may even meet someone who is interested in the things that you are.

Pinterest is definitely a social network for people who are open-minded and do not mind exploring and experimenting with something new.

One of my pinterest boards deals with weddings. Every little girl wants to come up with her own dream wedding. It is sill a hobby for me to look at dresses and designs for how I would want to profess my love for someone.

Another one of my pinterest boards deals with fashion. Fashion plays a big part in my life. I love that I can show people what my style is like and the type of clothes that I prefer.

I have a beauty board for females that are into beauty and hairstyles and stuff.

The main thing that I dislike about pinterest is that it is less posting about you in writing and only pictures. I am big on expressing my feelings in a few words, so people can understand how my mind works.

Twitter

I love twitter. I love how it works and all. I can keep in contact with my friends while still being me and getting in contact with complete strangers. When you see a tweet that relates to you, people usually retweet it, which is a tool that you do to repost the same post. Twitter is a social network that allows you to be you with no filter. You are always wondering what someone is doing and twitter is the place where you can pretty much get all of that information.

Anyone can get access to twitter, so be aware that it can be unsafe at times. Be sure that whatever you are posting is still not telling your exact move every time.

Twitter has definitely become part of our everyday life. It keeps you updated with news and all. It is just very convenient to our everyday lives and it gives us easy access to everyday news. It does not matter what kind of news you are looking forward to viewing, twitter.com has it all in just one app. All it really needs is a just a few clicks.

LinkedIn

   LinkedIn is a professional website that professional people go to find jobs and post job experiences. People go to LinkedIn to find work and to keep in contact with co-workers. LinkedIn is so popular because it is really useful for people in a workplace. People can set up meetings and speak about things while not at work. It is a good resource when you are trying to organize and set up tasks that have to get done.     

      LinkedIn set up people I may know by my demographics. For example the school that I attend, they will list people that also attend South Carolina State University.

What I plan on doing with my LinkedIn site is to build a brand and find a way to get in contact with people from different news stations so I can get a better understanding as to what to expect.

LinkedIn is a really good site to get connected on. You may even gain some personal connections just by being active on the site.

Everyone in college should definitely start a LinkedIn account.

It is a good outlet to keep up with what is going on in your workplace and what changes to expect.

          Hello my tea sippers, I am Lynn McGrier, the author and editor of this blog site. I am 20 years old and I am from Harlem, NY. I moved to Summerville, South Carolina when I was 16 because of the environment. It was slower pace and forced me to focus more. I am a junior broadcasting major at South Carolina State University.     When I graduate college I do not mind starting out at a small news station but eventually I would want to be in a bigger studio. Along being an aspiring news anchor and a college student, I really do enjoy dressing up. I have a huge love for fashion. If I cannot be anything I would definitely be a fashion designer and work with models during the fashion weeks. I used to model when I was younger, but then I realized that I would much rather be the person behind the scenes making someone look good.

Words of Wisdom

  On my personal twitter account, I follow numerous people, maybe around 500 accounts. That is a lot of people! I follow each person for a particular reason.

The person I would call the "GOAT" is Iyanla Vanzant. Iyanla is a tv host for her own show on the OWN network owned by Oprah Winfrey.

    Her twitter page is full of motivating tweets and posts. I enjoy following her because even on the days that I feel horrible and I am stuck I go to her page to get uplifted. No matter what kind of situation I am in, her tweets seem to fit them. I feel like words mean a lot. In these sense I mean that it can determine your mood.

You can do two things with a tweet. You can either relate to it or not. I do not bother to read a full tweet if the beginning has no relativity to me. Iyanla relates to my blog because she is a positive person. You can expect my blog to show motivating memes and quotes. I am not the gossiping type of blogger but I do like to shine the light on all positive aspects. Yes it is great to know about the celebrities and stuff but I think it better to know mostly positive things. What they are doing to change OUR world.

Well known rapper, Nelly, is in debt with the IRS! From sources like SPIN magazine, they say he needs at least 287,176,547 streams to pay off his IRS debt. People all over social media like, Twitter, Instagram and etc. has made Nelly's issue a trending topic. Hashtags like "#HotInHerreStreamingParty, #GetNellyOutofDebtParty, and #SaveNelly" are pointing people to help out with the ongoing issue with a legend. He has many supporters that are willing to go ahead and stream his music.

Music apps like, iTunes and Spotify are supporting the cause and are trying to help.
The solution to his problem may be to go on tour. People would really buy tickets to go see him perform all of his older hits.
